Hello everyone!

 

As tomorrow morning we start our second annual 5K Race for Plates, we wanted to remind everyone of some important race day information. Also see below for some FAQ.

 

First and foremost, PLEASE BRING NON-PERISHABLE FOOD/HYGIENE ITEMS


All these donations will go to benefit Feed the Need in Durham, and we thank you in advance for your support in helping us fight local food insecurity. Cash donations are also accepted however we are unable to give tax receipts. Donations can be dropped off during bib number pick up at the registration tent.

 

Next is our race schedule:

Bib number pickup - 6:30am to 7:45am at the start line.

Race start - 8:00am

Awards at the finish line - 9:00am

 

Medals will be given to the top three male and female finishers, as well as finisher medals for all participants. New this year, we have added a Starbucks gift card for the male and female winners! Check out our instagram @stockthesummer for a medal reveal.

 

Post race snacks will be provided (chips, apples, bananas, and water) as well as a water station at the halfway point. Public washrooms will also be available at the start/finish line.

 

Reminder that we are asking all participants to park in Kiwanis Parking Lot 2 

(580 Water St, Whitby, ON L1N 9N2).

 

FAQ

 

Do I need to pick up my bib in advance?

No need, we give out bibs when you check in at our tent tomorrow morning.

 

How much do I need to donate?

Completely up to you! We recognize everyone's situation is unique, however we ask each participant to bring a minimum of one non-perishable food item. We intentionally keep registration costs low in order to keep the race more accessible, which means we rely on these donations to actually make a difference!

 

Is registration closed?

No, registration is open right until the start of the race. We offer in-person race day registration, or you can register online today. *NOTE: We had a small technical glitch where registration was briefly closed, however this has been fixed and online registration remains open.
